Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans

The Texans have made some major improvements with Schaub and Green. The Texans are a 3 point favorite in the NFL lines and for good reason. Look for Houston to win and cover.

Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills

The Broncos are a 3 point favorite at Buffalo in the NFL lines. Denver is the more talented team and should win the game. How will the Bills move the Ball against Denver? It may not be easy but Denver should win and cover.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns

The Browns are going with Charlie Frye in this one and that is reason enough to take Pittsburgh. The Steelers are a 4.5 point favorite in the NFL lines and should win and cover. The Browns defense is weak and Big Ben will rebound this season.

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguards decided to go with David Garrard at quarterback and it is a good decision. Leftwich didn’t win but Gerrard will. Look for Jacksonville to crush Vince Young and the Titans in the opener. Jacksonville is a 6.5 point favorite in the NFL betting lines.

Carolina Panthers at St. Louis Rams

The Rams can score but have no defense. The Panthers are similar. The best bet in this game should be the over. The Rams are a 1 point favorite with a total of 42.5 in the NFL lines. Look for a high scoring game.

Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers

The Eagles get McNabb back and the Packers have Favre. In a tough call it looks like Philadelphia is the right side. The Eagles are a 3 point favorite in the NFL betting lines.

Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings

The Falcons won’t have Michael Vick anymore but they never won with him anyway. The Vikings have Adrian Peterson and nothing else. This is a winnable game for Atlanta. Look for the Falcons to surprise and win this one. The Vikings are a 3 point favorite in the NFL lines.

Miami Dolphins at Washington Redskins

This should be a defensive game. Neither team looks very good this season with both quarterbacks question marks. The Skins are at home and may pull out the win but the under looks like the better bet. NFL betting lines have Washington a 3 point favorite with a total of 34.5.

New England Patriots at NY Jets

This game is usually a war. The Pats are getting a lot of respect in the line but they may struggle here. The Patriots are a 6.5 point favorite in the NFL lines and that may be too many points.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks

Tampa Bay has Jeff Garcia now at quarterback and will be better. The Seahawks have Hasselbeck and Alexander so this game should be entertaining. The points may be the way to go here. The Seahawks are a 6 point favorite at SBG Global.

Chicago Bears at San Diego Chargers

The Chargers have all of the offense in this game while the Bears have the defense. San Diego at home looks very tempting but laying almost a TD to the Bears is not something that works very often. Taking the points is the way to go here. San Diego is a 6 point favorite in the NFL lines.

Detroit Lions at Oakland Raiders

Two of the worst teams in the league matchup in this one. Neither one looks good and it is probably a game to pass on. Perhaps the Raiders get the opening day win. The Raiders are a 1.5 point home favorite in the NFL lines.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are the better team here but the Giants are at home. Nothing is ever easy for Dallas and Wade Phillips is not the answer. Look for the Giants to pull off the upset. Dallas is a 5.5 point favorite in the NFL betting lines.

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals

Willis McGahee should do well with Baltimore this season. Both of these teams should be able to score. The Bengals are at home but laying points is tough. The over might be the better bet. The Bengals are a 2.5 point favorite with a total of 40 in the NFL lines.

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers

This game has two teams that could surprise this season. It is a very tough call and should be a great game. Both teams should be able to score and the over looks like the better bet. San Francisco is a 3 point favorite with a total of 45.5 in the NFL betting lines.

Michigan Drops Out of College Football Rankings

The NCAA Top 25 AP poll had a major change after the opening week of the season. Michigan fell all the way out of the college football rankings after being ranked #5 last week. It is the first time a team ranked in the Top 5 college football rankings has ever fallen completely out of the NCAA top 25 in a single week. The Wolverines were upset by Appalachian State in perhaps the biggest college football upset in history. The Wolverines lost 34-32 at home to the Division 1AA School. USC was again the #1 team in the college football rankings but they were unimpressive against Idaho and lost some support. They got 59 first place votes this week in the NCAA Top 25 AP poll, down three votes from last week. The 2nd ranked LSU Tigers picked up those lost votes and received five first place votes overall. #3 West Virginia picked up the other first place vote. Florida moved up to #4 in the college football rankings followed by #5 Wisconsin who also moved up two spots.

Oklahoma moved up three spots to #6 in the NCAA Top 25 followed by Texas who was another big mover this week in the college football rankings as they fell three spots to #7 after just getting by Arkansas State. Louisville is #8 in the college football rankings followed by Virginia Tech and #10 California who moved up two spots in the college football rankings after dismantling Tennessee.

The second ten in the college football rankings starts with #11 Georgia who moved up two spots after an impressive win against Oklahoma State. Ohio State is #12, UCLA #13, Penn State #14 and Rutgers #15. Nebraska moved up four places to #16 followed by Auburn in 17th, Arkansas 18th, TCU 19th and Hawaii in 20th place. The final five in the college football rankings are Georgia Tech, Boise State, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Clemson. Florida State fell out of the college football rankings after losing to Clemson while the Tigers moved in. Georgia Tech also made the college football rankings after their win at Notre Dame. The NCAA Top 25 are pretty consistent between the AP college football poll and the USA Today college football poll with the one difference being Boston College at #25 in the USA Today poll while Clemson is #25 in the AP poll.
